After the Crypotpocaplyse or Cryptogeddon or whatever you call it, it's worth discussing the viability of cryptocurrencies; be it Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin or whatever altcoin you prefer.
The evidence is in: Cryptocurrencies don't make for good currencies. They are waaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too volatile. That being said, blockchain is a great technology with many exciting applications. And cryptocurrencies have made for good investments. Just be careful with them because they have no inherent value. And for those crypto enthusiasts out there who will counter that "the dollar has no inherent value either," OK sure. But it does have the US government and all the violence it can unleash behind it.
